The Town government operates under the New Brunswick Municipalities Act, and holds public meetings once a month. The Mayor and eight councillors are elected for a four-year term.

Regular Council meetings generally take place on the second Monday of each month in the Town Hall Council Chambers at 31C Main Street. Start time is 7:00 p.m.
