NB Youth Orchestra Comes To Sackville January 11

They played for Queen Elizabeth II and the Prime Minister of Canada...
From Carnegie Hall, to an Award Winning CBC documentary, international tours and recording in Italy, the Forbidden City Tour in China, ECMA win and national recognition; the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra is quickly becoming one of Canada’s biggest success stories.
The award winning orchestra continues its 2008/09 Season with a concert in Sackville, New Brunswick on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Convocation Hall, 37 York Street. Dr. Robert Campbell, President of Mount Allison University, will be master of ceremonies for the event. The concert begins at 2:00 PM. Tickets are available at Tidewater Books (536-0404), Rags of Time Books (536-2808) and Ernie Sears Music Supplies (536-2314), or at Convocation Hall just prior to the concert.
The orchestra is comprised of 93 young men and women from throughout New Brunswick. They include culturally diverse English and French –speaking students ranging from 12-22 years of age. This year there are about a dozen Sackville area members consisting of Mount Allison University students as well as Tantramar High School students.
Dedicated people are the heart and soul of any successful organization and NBYO is no exception. Our Conductor—Dr. James Mark is now in his fifteenth season as the Musical Director of NBYO. He continues to inspire and elevate our finest young classical musicians to new heights.
The Sackville concert will also have a guest conductor Jean-Phillipe Tremblay and a guest performance by Les Jeunes Chanteurs d’Acadie.
