You may qualify to own your own home if you: have a need for a decent home; have the ability to pay for and to maintain a house; and are willing to partner with Habitat for Humanity and to support its objectives. In a joint initiative between the Tantramar Efficient and Affordable Model (TEAM) and Habitat for Humanity, we are seeking applications from low-income families who are interested in helping to build an affordable home in which they can live. The TEAM will work with the partner family to build a modest energy-efficient home through the cooperative efforts of community volunteers and professional tradespeople. Habitat for Humanity then sells the house to the partner family at no profit and finances no-interest mortgages. TEAM-Habitat expects the partner family to become a home owner and to accept all of the responsibilities of home ownership. Family applicants will be screened by the Moncton Affiliate of Habitat for Humanity.
