BATTLE OF THE TEENAGE BANDS

Saturday, June 28th at the Tantramar Veteran's Memorial Civic Centre (aka The Sackville Rink) Sandpiper Productions will be hosting a "Battle of the Teenage Bands". This will take place from approximately 1pm to 4 pm. The stage will be set up on the rink floor with production provided by Hub City Sound out of Moncton - we will have a drum kit (rental donated by MusicStop in Moncton) on stage so bands will not have to switch out after each performance - admission for spectators will be $5 at the door - all ages - no booze. We will have several sponsors who will be providing prizes for the top band/bands and perhaps spectators. This "battle" is open to "teenagers" who have a band that jams or plays together - There is no charge for Bands to enter but we are looking for approximately 10 bands to play 3 songs each - any style - rock, pop, rap, country, Indie, whatever - the only rule - no profaniity - no hate lyrics - as there will be younger kids in the audience. Preference will be given to teenage bands (looking for high school age but will consider others)from the Sackville, Amherst, Moncton areas. To apply for one of these 10 spots - email me (toyrun@nb.sympatico.ca) a mp3, link, or youtube, etc. performance of your band along with contact info. The top band (chosen by the fans and maybe a couple of Judges) will receive a trophy, $100 cash, other prizes from sponsors (to be determined) and the opportunity to play 2 songs at the concert that night at the Civic Centre featuring CCR Tribute Band THE BAYOU BOYS with opening act JAM HALL. This could also lead to further bookings so get your band and put together a video, mp3, whatever and send it in. Deadline for entry is JUNE 16th. More info to come. MusicStop in Moncton has agreed to be a major sponsor for this event!
