Sackville Volunteer Fire Department

Safety Services

The town bears the distinction of having not only one of the lowest crime rates in the province, but one of the lowest crime rates in the country.

Sackville's fire department is made up of 40 volunteer fire-fighters who have achieved an outstanding record in meeting the town's fire-fighting and rescue emergency needs.

Child Care

The York Street Children's Centre and The Spotted Toad Daycare are both provincially licensed facilities. These day care centres are committed to working with families to provide quality child care. Programs are available for infants through to after-school care.

Health and Care-giving Services

Unlike most small towns, Sackville has local ambulance service and its own general hospital. The 33-bed acute care Sackville Memorial Hospital specializes in family practice and geriatric care, has a special-care unit and provides emergency and outpatient services.

The United Church Home for Senior Citizens, a 130-bed extended care facility overlooking the Sackville Waterfowl Park, provides quality extended care to senior citizens. There are also 36 seniors' cottages on the premises.
