The United Church Home For Senior Citizens operates the 90-patient Drew Nursing Home as well as Tantramar Residences, which includes 9 cottages (4 units per cottage) for independent seniors. Both facilities are located adjacent to Mount Allison University and within walking distance of downtown.
The Charlotte Street Senior Care home and several seniors housing units complement the community’s senior care resources.
Safety Services
Sackville bears the distinction of having not only one of the lowest crime rates in the province, but one of the lowest crime rates in the country. Police services in Sackville are provided by the RCMP, much like in Moncton. Members of this force provide excellent bilingual service to our community. Rural and highway detachments of the RCMP also provide services in the surrounding areas.
Sackville's fire department is made up of 40 volunteer fire-fighters who have achieved an outstanding record in meeting the town's fire-fighting and rescue emergency needs. A recent survey of over 100 local businesses gave our volunteer fire department a 99% approval rate for responding to calls for assistance. The department maintains a fleet of modern vehicles.
