Struts Gallery & Faucet Media Arts Centre are proud to present the works of artists Amanda Fauteux, Melanie Colosimo, Corey Isenor and Penelope Smart. The exhibition will up from June 20th to Saturday July 3rd as part of the 2010 Living is Easy. The Living is Easy is a summer exhibition series featuring works by different members every two weeks.
Corey J. Isenor is originally from Enfield, Nova Scotia, and now lives in Sackville, New Brunswick. His current studio practice concentrates on drawing, sculpture, and mixed-media work, with a focus on exploring the relationship between abstraction and the natural environment.
Penelope Smart studied Anthropology and Political Science at Mount Allison University and works as a radio journalist in Quebec and New Brunswick. Her visual art projects include installations exploring light and textiles.
Amanda Fauteux is currently finishing her MFA at Concordia University. Through sewing, zines, animation and gentle public engagement, she weaves together stories, tells secrets and lovingly makes jokes. For her show, Amanda will share new works in progress, a projection and a bookwork reenacting an old dream and recent doubt. For more on Amanda Fauteux, visit www.neverbemean.com.
Melanie Colosimo is a Halifax based artist. Through drawing, animation and miniatures, Melanie creates unsettled situations and disruptive narratives.
