MTA Performing Arts Series

Thursday, March 11th, 2010, 8:00 pm

Mount Allison University Performing Arts Series presents the world music ensemble Chirgilchin on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 8:00 pm at Brunton Auditorium, M.Y.B. Conservatory of Music, 134 Main Street.

Chirgilchin is four musicians from Tuva, a small Russian province near Mongolia. Singing in their native tongue, the group accompanies themselves on hand-made instruments. Atmospheric and mesmerizing, the Tuvan style of "throat singing" produces low guttural sounds with flute-like overtones of haunting beauty. Don't miss this truly unforgettable event!
