Artist Lecture - Julie Voyce

Julie Voyce, an artist from Toronto, will give a presentation on her work at the Owens Art Gallery on Wednesday, February 12, 2009 at 7:30 pm. All are welcome to attend.

Voyce has been an active and significant member of the Toronto art community since the completion of her degree from the Ontario College of Art and Design in 1980. A multidisciplinary artist working in printmaking, drawing, painting, and book works, Voyce has exhibited her work extensively throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe. She is widely known and respected for her references to mass media and advertising, for her vibrant and whimsical images, and for her sense of humor. In 2004, Voyce was awarded the “Artist of the Year Award” by the Untitled Art Awards in Toronto.

Julie Voyce will present her work as part of the Visiting Artist Programme titled "Playing", a series co-sponsored by Mount Allison's Department of Fine Arts, The Owens Art Gallery, and Struts Gallery.
