Farmer's Market

Sackville Farmer's Market every Saturday morning at the Bridge Street Cafe, 10 Bridge Street, Sackville, from 9:00 am - 12:00 noon.

The market features regional products, fresh produce, baked goods, ethnic foods, arts and crafts and more! From June to October the market expands into Bridge Street. Bridge Street's downtown block is closed to traffic and the market bustles with vendors and local entertainment.

Sackville Community Garden Summer Workshop

Sackville Comunity Garden Summer Workshop, Saturday, August 4th at 2pm. Vermicomposting: Del Seto will give us all of the information necessary for composting at home with the aid of earthworms!

The above event is being held at the Sackville Community Garden, located by the train tracks on Charles Street!

PUBLIC NOTICE

CN will be performing maintenance on the railway tracks on its Springhill Subdivision, between the municipalities of Dorchester and Sackville. The gang started its work at Dorchester on July 31 and proceeds East to finish just East of Sackville around August 6. The work is carried out 7 days a week, between 2:30 p.m. and 00:30 a.m..

The work consists of replacing ties and levelling the railway track. Our work gang will comprise some 50 employees who will be working simultaneously on the track with around 27 machines. There will be heavy machinery on site and two-way radios will be on for the safety of the workers.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the work. Note that work of this magnitude is only carried out every 15 to 20 years.

SappyFest 2012

The dynamic independent music and arts festival will take place from August 3-5, 2012 in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada. Passes are 19+ and include access to all venues throughout the weekend.

Preparations are under way for the seventh annual event which will feature over 40 bands, screenings, art installations, readings, street market and small press fair. The SappyFest Mainstage site is a combination of two large tents, beer garden and market with a capacity of 2000. The site is located in the heart of downtown Sackville, on Bridge Street, closing down the main commercial thorougfare while creating a vibrant, high-profile epicenter for the festival. Side stages are all within walking distance and include a free outdoor bandstand, art deco movie house, turn of the century church, and a Royal Canadian Legion.

SappyFest is excited to announce the addition of Eternal Summers, Each Other, Wet Denim (Hey Eleanor King is in this band and she just got nominated for the Sobey award!), Alex Durlak, and Light Fires to the 2012 lineup.

We've also just released an incredible promo video for this year's festival and launched a new SappyFest website.

In addition to the fabulous musical performances, there is a delicate menagerie of other activities to participate in at SappyFest 7, including: City Mail, Sappy Times, Zine Fair, Street Market, The Talking Exploding Diamond Talk Show, Universal Dawn, Kids Corner Power Jam, Candlepin Bowling, and Cumberland County Softball. There are special projects (and partnerships with Struts/Faucet) by Daniel Barrow, Christine Swintak & Don Miller, Andrew Maize, Jon Claytor, Leanne Zacharius, and Cat Pontoon. Also, expect elocutionary happenings from Ian Roy, Misha Bower, Eric Hill, Vish Khanna, Sean Michaels, Adam O'Reilly, Mitchell Wiebe, and more.

8th Annual Ok.Quoi?! Contemporary Arts Festival

Ok.Quoi?! presents a diverse program of comtemporary film, music, audio art and performance by over 40 regionl, national and international artists. Screenings, concerts and public exhibitions take place at a variety of venues and on the downtown streets in the heart of Sackille. Workshops throughout the week are geared toward professionl and emerging artists and community members. The Kids Corner Power Jam, a daily creative camp for children of various ages is programmed in conjunction with SappyFest.

Festival by the Marsh

Festival by the Marsh, July 22 - August 18th. 2012 marks a return of one of Southeast New Brunswick's largest and best loved summer festivals - the full-scale Festival by the Marsh - this year with a theme of Back to the Future. This theme was chosen because 2012 will see a return to the format of fully produced plays, the Marsh Music Fest (featuring jazz, blues, and folk music), a two day KIDS FEST, a drama workshop, and other activities, all stretched over four weeks in July and August.
