War of 1812 Travelling Exhibit

2012 marks the 200th anniversary of the beginning of the War of 1812. At Fort Beausejour - Fort Cumberland National Historic Site (Aulac NB), we are excited to welcome a travelling exhibit that will tell the story of how the flame of war forged a spirit of co-operation that led to the creation of Canada.

The event is being held Monday, July 30th from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm and Tuesday, July 31st, from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Also, a presentation _ The Acadian community and the War of 1812_ by historian Ronnie-Gilles Leblanc is being held July 31st at 2:00 pm.

OK.Quoi?! Arts Festival Music Workshops. Monday July 30-Friday August 3, at the Sackville Music Hall. Workshops in playing music together and improvising, led by Halifax composer Jerome Blais. Any instrument, any level of ability, any age welcome to join in.

8th Annual Ok.Quoi?! Contemporary Arts Festival

Ok.Quoi?! presents a diverse program of comtemporary film, music, audio art and performance by over 40 regionl, national and international artists. Screenings, concerts and public exhibitions take place at a variety of venues and on the downtown streets in the heart of Sackille. Workshops throughout the week are geared toward professionl and emerging artists and community members. The Kids Corner Power Jam, a daily creative camp for children of various ages is programmed in conjunction with SappyFest.

Festival by the Marsh

Festival by the Marsh, July 22 - August 18th. 2012 marks a return of one of Southeast New Brunswick's largest and best loved summer festivals - the full-scale Festival by the Marsh - this year with a theme of Back to the Future. This theme was chosen because 2012 will see a return to the format of fully produced plays, the Marsh Music Fest (featuring jazz, blues, and folk music), a two day KIDS FEST, a drama workshop, and other activities, all stretched over four weeks in July and August.

  • July 23-25 - A Mid Summer Night's Dream at the Mount Allison Swan Pond, 128 Main Street, 7:00 pm, produced by Moncton's Hubcity Theatre
  • July 26-29 - Toad of Toad Hall presented by Sackville's Performers Company Theatre group
  • July 22-August 18 - The Marsh Music Fest; folk, jazz and blues concerts
