New Brunswick Day Celebration

New Brunswick Day activities will be held at the Lillas Fawcett Park (3 Morice Drive) from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. There will be lots of activities: face painting, water games and kids' games, fiddling and much more; something for everyone. Tantramar Family Resource Centre will also have activites for children age 0 - 14 with caregivers. Shinerama will have a number of activities.

  • 1:00 pm The Razzmatazz For Kids Show. The award-winning RAZZMATAZZ FOR KIDS will get you hugging someone you love, clucking like a chicken, bumping up and down on a bumpy bus, or performing on stage with them. They have toured in Canada and the U.S.A.
  • 1:50 - 2:50 pm local fiddler Stacey Read and her students to perform
  • 2:00 pm - cutting of the New Brunswick Day cake

Pack a picnic lunch and bring along your lawn chairs sit back and relax and enjoy the show.

PUBLIC NOTICE

CN will be performing maintenance on the railway tracks on its Springhill Subdivision, between the municipalities of Dorchester and Sackville. The gang started its work at Dorchester on July 31 and proceeds East to finish just East of Sackville around August 6. The work is carried out 7 days a week, between 2:30 p.m. and 00:30 a.m..

The work consists of replacing ties and levelling the railway track. Our work gang will comprise some 50 employees who will be working simultaneously on the track with around 27 machines. There will be heavy machinery on site and two-way radios will be on for the safety of the workers.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the work. Note that work of this magnitude is only carried out every 15 to 20 years.

The Sackville Rod & Gun Club are holding Clay Bird Shotgun Shoots every Monday evening at 6:00 pm, June - September at the club's private shotgun range, located at 32 Landing Road, Sackville.

Festival by the Marsh

Festival by the Marsh, July 22 - August 18th. 2012 marks a return of one of Southeast New Brunswick's largest and best loved summer festivals - the full-scale Festival by the Marsh - this year with a theme of Back to the Future. This theme was chosen because 2012 will see a return to the format of fully produced plays, the Marsh Music Fest (featuring jazz, blues, and folk music), a two day KIDS FEST, a drama workshop, and other activities, all stretched over four weeks in July and August.

  • July 23-25 - A Mid Summer Night's Dream at the Mount Allison Swan Pond, 128 Main Street, produced by Moncton's Hubcity Theatre
  • July 26-29 - Toad of Toad Hall presented by Sackville's Performers Company Theatre group
  • July 22-August 18 - The Marsh Music Fest; folk, jazz and blues concerts
  • July 23-27 - Drama Wokshops
  • August 8-11, 15-18 - The Little Prince presented by Will O' the Wisp Productions
  • August 11-12 - Kids Fest; concerts, plays, the Tool Collector Show and Family Fun Day and many other activities for children and families
