Yoko Homareda, Free Workshop at Struts Gallery

Struts Gallery & Faucet Media Arts Centre are pleased to host Yoko Homareda as the latest participant in the Open Studio Artist in Residence Program. Originally from Tokyo, Japan Yoko now lives and works in Strasbourg, France where she maintains a multi-dimensional art practice combining porcelain ceramics, drawing, print making and paper cutouts. Yoko will be working out of the studio at Struts Gallery, 7 Lorne Street, Sackville, New Brunswick until October 2nd, keeping regular hours.

Her studio is already a showcase for a tremendous amount of work featuring new drawings, collage and paper cutouts daily. Three public events have been scheduled to provide the opportunity to interact and learn from this fascinating and talented artist, all of which are free to the public and take place at Struts Gallery. On Tuesday, September 14th at 7:30 pm, Yoko will present a talk on her past work, international exhibition history and current projects. Yoko will be providing a free workshop outlining her paper cutout techniques and processes on Tuesday, September 21st at 7:30 pm. Participants will have the opportunity to create a paper cutout and exchange ideas in a casual, informal and supportive environment. Yoko will be exhibiting her work produced here in Sackville with a reception scheduled for Friday, September 24th at 8 pm. All are welcome at the gallery for a social evening of conversation and refreshments celebrating the work of this dynamic young artist. For more information on Yoko, please visit website above.
