New Brunswick Day Community Picnic

First annual New Brunswick Day Community Picnic, Monday, August 2nd, at the Bandstand Park, 70 Main Street, from 11:00 am - 1:30 pm.

Teddy Bear picnic with special guest (bring along your favourite stuffed animal). Free BBQ or bring your own picnic lunch. Games, activities and live music for all ages. A day of family, kids and community.

Community Forests International Ecological Forestry Short Course, August 2 - 6th, Sackville, NB. A comprehensive course with a balance of in-class instruction and in-forest training.

Community Forests International has been working to foster relationships with the natural world in which human liveihoods and forest products are provided while the integrity of the forest ecosystem is preserved. This short course explores these principles while demonstrationg how a philosophy of sustainability can be put into practice.

Instructors include:

  • Jamie Simpson, author of Restoring the Acadian Forest: A Guide to Forest Stewartship for Woodlot Owners in the Maritimes
  • Marc Spence, President of the NB Community Land Trust
  • William McKay, President of Nagaya Forest Rstoration Ltd.
