MTA 1st Annual Alumni Golf Fundraiser

You're invited to the 1st Annual Alumni Golf Fundraiser in support of Mount Allison University Athletics, Friday, Septemaber 18th. It is open to all Mount Allison Alumni and Friends!

  • Texas scramble format
  • 1 pm shotgun start; dinner and prize presentation to follow
  • 36 teams of four; only first 144 paid entries will be accepted
  • Power carts are extra and can be ordered when you register (limited number are available) $62.15 tax included.

Book Launch - Douglas Lochead's _Looking into Trees_

The pubic is cordially invited to the Owens Art Gallery on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 4:00 pm for the launching of Douglas Lochead's new collection of poetry, Looking into Trees.

Six local authors will be reading for the book - Linda Dornan, Amanda Jernigan, K.V. Johansen, Robert Lapp, Harry Thurston and Deborah Wills.

The event is sponsored by the Centre for Canadian Studies and the Department of English at Mount Allison University.

Spaghetti Supper at Sackville United Church Hall, 112 Main Street, Sackville, NB on Friday, September 18, 2009 from 4:30 - 6:30 pm. Adults $8.00 Children under 12 $4.00

Fall Fair Opening Ceremonies

Opening Ceremonies for the Fall Fair will take place in the Festival Tent on Bridge Street on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 6:00 pm. Along with the opening ceremonies will be the presentation of Citizen of Year and Youth Citizen of the Year.

Fall Fair Midway

The Fall Fair Midway will open on Friday, September 18, 2009 on Mallard Drive, next to Home Hardware at 6:00 pm.

Beausejour Trio - Faculty & Guest Recital

Faculty and Guest Recital: Beausejour Trio - Wesley Ferreira, clarinet; Julia MacLane, cello; Stephen Runge, piano. Music will be by Beethoven, Brahms, Louie and Kernis.

The recital will be at Brunton Auditorium on Friday, September 18th, 2009 at 8:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased through Mount Allison Music Department or at the Door.

Live Bait Dinner Theatre - Hank Williams

Live Bait Theatre once again presents the dinner theatre, Hank Williams: The Show He Never Gave, September 15 - 19th. It will be the same cast as the summer performances, with the incredible Ryan Cook starring as Hank Williams, backed up by Brad Reid, Adam Pye and Andrew Sneddon as the Drifting Cowboys. The performances are at the Live Bait Theatre, 87 Main Street, and the doors open at 6:30 pm, with the show beginnings at 7:00 pm. Catering will once again be provided by Joey's Restaurant.

Hey Rosetta

Exciting Live music for all ages will be in the Festival Tent on Friday, September 18, 2009 starting at 8:30 pm. The free concert will include Boxer the Horse, the Novaks and Hey Rosetta. There will be a Bar Tend for 19+ opening at 8:00 pm.

Shirt Tail Parade

Sackville Fall Fair Shirt Tail Parade will take place on Friday, September 18th, at 10:00 pm. Entrants are asked to form up at the Sackville Fire Station at 9:30 pm and parade of fun seekers will leave the Station at 10:00 pm working its way downtown and will then return to the Station.

Staff/organizations are invited to participate in the Shirt Tail Parade. As to dressing up for the parade, anthing goes! Just let your imagination run wild and remember, the "funkier" the better. So throw out a challenge to all of your staff as well to other businesses and organizations to come and participate in the wacky event.

Sackville Fall Fair

Sackville Fall Fair, September 17 - 20th.

Come celebrate autumn in Sackville with a weekend filled with events for all ages, including the Agricultural Field Days, midway rides, craft show, street car derby, live bands and our famous parade and much more. The 9th annual Fall Fair promises to be very exciting.

  • September 18 - Children's activities, street dance and great live music under the Bridge Street Tent.

  • September 19 - Parade, Midway, Agricultural Field Day, Petting Zoo, Corn Maize, all day country and bluegrass music. Tantramar marsh Blues Society presents Garrett Mason with opening act The Streamliners at 9:00 pm.

  • September 20 - Street car derby, pet show and a whole lot more! Les Jongleurs de la Mandragore, one of Montreal's most exciting young Early Music group to emerge in the past five years, will be performing FREE at the Bridge Street Tent at 2:00 pm.
