Goldenrod crepes, apple and rose petal pie, chive and nettle pesto; these are just a few of the recipes in the book, Wild Plants of Eastern Canada: Identifying, Harvesting and Using. The book, written by Anthropology professor Marilyn Walker of Mount Allison University, is a guide to the plants of this region and their many uses, from medicinal to ecological. You can meet the author and sample some recipes from the book at a book launch to be held on Friday, September 19th at 5:00 pm at the President's Cottage at Mount Allison University.

This year, our theme Celebrate Our Cultural Harvest is due in part to Sackville being named a Cultural Capital of Canada. Opening Ceremonies will be held Friday, September 19 at 6 pm, followed by a Street Dance for kids (6:30 - 8:30 pm), followed by a FREE concert for all ages, featuring the Grass and Hey Rosetta, all in the Bridge Street Tent.
The Fall Fair Parade will commence at 1:00 pm, Saturday, September 20th.
