Farmer's Market

During July and August, Bridge Street's downtown block will be closed to traffic on Saturday mornings for the Sackville Farmer's Market. Vendors will be able to set up in the street as well as inside Bridge Street Cafe.

The Sackville Farmer's Market features regional products and a friendly atmosphere; fresh produce, baked goods, ethnic foods, preserves, non-profit group fundraisers, etc.

To register as a vendor, call Cathy at Bridge Street Cafe 506-536-4428. Anyone wishing to perform music, dance, etc. can contact Rebekah at 506-364-4968.

So plan to stop by Bridge Street on Saturday morning and enjoy a pedestrian-friendly atmosphere where you can browse in the shops, taste locally made foods and get-together with friends.

Take a 60 minute guided tour of Sackville's captains' corner; learn about local ship-building history and glimpse our ghost seaport! Tours are given daily from June 24th until August at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm starting at Boultenhouse Heritage Centre, 29 Queens Road. For additional information contact 506-536-2541.

Cabaret Show - Uh Oh, Canada!

Live Bait Theatre Cabaret Show Uh-oh, Canada! by Karen Valanne and Marjorie Clare. A revue of the best of Canadian music, featuring pop, rock, folk, country and hockey arena anthems. TALKABOUT - An Open Mic Night

CHMA Radio, Struts Gallery and Festival by the Marsh present: TALKABOUT. This open mic night features poetry readings and a special performance by Tanya Davis. Music Barn - Sackville Fire Dept. Fundraiser

Saturday, July 12, The Music Barn, 18 Station Road will present an all day event to raise funds for the Sackville Fire Department for a portable defibulator. Tickets for the all day event are $15.00 at the door; $10.00 after 5:00 pm. BBQ and canteen on site, provided by the Fire Department.

Festival By The Marsh

Festival by the Marsh is an integrated arts festival featuring high quality theatre and music performances, fine arts displays and demonstrations, other forms of artistic expression, and Educational Programmes for young people. The flagship event of the festival will be a two-week run of The Tempest to be presented on the beautiful Mount Allison campus. Writer's Fest Day

Festival by the Marsh presents 'Writers Fest Day.' Local and regional writers to come together in a day of celebration of their art. This all-day, free event includes many exhibitions, which include the following:

9:30 a.m. - Young people read from their works at the bandstand downtown. Sheree Fitch will act as the Master of Ceremonies.

10:00 a.m. - K.V. Johansen and Sheree Fitch read from their books for young people at the bandstand. Coffee and light breakfast to be served.

1:00 p.m. - The Frye Festival presents Gerard Beirne, Thaddeus Holownia and Harry Thurston read from their works at Owen's Art Gallery on the Mount Allison Campus.

3:00 p.m. - Gerard Beirne holds a novel workshop at Owen's Art Gallery. Free admission, but limited enrollment, so we ask please to register in advance!

5:30 p.m. - "Dining with Writers" supper at the Olive Branch. Eat dinner with a featured or local author! Unfortunately, this event is not free. Tickets are $25, and include dinner.

8:00 p.m. - Bernice Morgan, Sheree Fitch and Mark Blagrave all read from their works at Owen's Art Gallery. Light refreshments served.

9:30 p.m. - CHMA Radio and Struts Gallery present "Open Mike Poetry and Performance by Tanya Davis." Struts Gallery.

Again, all events, save 'Dining with Writers,' are FREE of charge, so there's no excuse to miss this wonderful opportunity!

Osprey Festival

Osprey Festival, Cape Jourimain Nature Centre, at Cape Jourimain National Wildlife Area, located at the foot of the Confederation Bridge (route 16, exit 51) in Bayfield, NB. Celebrate our region's wildlife with hands-on activites, guided walks, demonstrations and exhibits. Free with admission to the Centre.
