Sackville has a thriving economy based on the presence of Mount Allison University, a niche retail sector, tourism, and the manufacturing industry.
The Town also supports a dynamic cultural sector. Home to renowned art galleries, theatres, numerous festivals and events, Sackville was named 2008 Culture Capital of Canada.

Sackville has continued to show solid growth with 42 single-family dwellings being constructed and an additional 18 multifunctional units. Future subdivisions include a 20-unit senior-style area and plenty of land for single-family dwellings.
